Where the project stands
The Institute is an early-stage development concept. This page records progress in the open, and will be updated as the proposal moves from concept towards a site, a consultation and a planning application.
Timeline
From concept to delivery
Each stage is described as it currently stands. No dates are given for stages that depend on securing a site, funding or planning consent.
- Stage 01Complete
Project announced
The White Rose Performance Institute was announced as an early-stage development concept: a proposed football, rugby and performance destination for women and girls in Hull and East Yorkshire, built around one integrated building and four full-size pitches.
- Stage 02Complete
Masterplan concept released
An indicative masterplan was published for discussion, showing one building over two principal floors with a set-back rooftop level, two rugby and two football pitches, parking, landscape and ecological provision across an indicative 18–22 acres. No stadium or spectator seating is proposed.
- Stage 03Complete
Women’s Gym concept complete
The concept for the c.200-station Women’s Gym was completed, alongside the c.40-station strength and conditioning hall, physiotherapy suite, recovery provision and crèche that sit with it on the ground floor.

Investor prospectus published
The full investor prospectus was issued, covering the vision, the evidence base, the development concept, the commercial model, the player pathway and the Founders’ Wall programme. It is available to download from this site.

Seeking development partners
Conversations are open with investors, developers, corporate partners and prospective naming-rights sponsors. Early partners help shape the brief while it is still being written.

Land search update
A search is underway for an indicative 18–22 acre site in Hull and East Yorkshire with suitable access, services and planning prospects. Landowners, agents and promoters are invited to make contact.

Community consultation
Consultation with clubs, schools, colleges, community organisations and prospective users will follow site identification, informing the brief before any planning application is prepared.

Grant applications
Applications to sport, health, education and regeneration funding bodies will be prepared once a site is secured and the delivery structure is confirmed.
